Referral Programs

The Nassau County Health Department is also responsible for providing coordination for the County Medical Indigent Program (CMIP) and Health Care Reimbursement Act (HCRA) for Nassau County. The purpose of the CMIP Program is to provide financial assistance to eligible Nassau County Residents needing specialty physician services. The HCRA Program is designed to assist with financial reimbursement for services provided by health care facilities (hospitals) to individuals deemed financially indigent. The HCRA reimburses health care facilities out of Nassau County who are able to provide services in an emergency or life-threatening situation.

Nassau County Health Department is supported by a volunteers in many program areas.  Individuals interested in volunteering their time should contact the Volunteer Coordinator at (904) 548-1860 ext 5325. Program areas include:
